Hellenic National Meteorological Service and EUMETSAT organise the "International Autumn School 2023" in Athens, Greece. The primary objective of this classroom workshop is to enhance participants' understanding and utilization of EUMETSAT's satellite data and products, including SAF products, in various fields of study or applications, with a specific focus on the MSG and MTG satellites.
By the end of the training, participants will have gained comprehensive knowledge of EUMETSAT's data products and services, along with the skills to effectively incorporate them into their scientific projects and research.
Participants will be guided through informative lectures, engage in hands-on practice sessions, and learn data visualization and processing techniques (using Python on Jupyter notebooks). This will be accompanied with the theoretical background in remote-sensing principles.
Target audience: New scientists, post-graduate students, experts and researchers from EUMETSAT Member-states, preferably young and motivated members of academic community and staff members of the Meteorological Services, with knowledge or experience in remote sensing, satellite data and products interpretation and some knowledge of Python coding .
