The first advanced training for CM SAF User's will take place in Mainz, Germany, 5 - 7 June 2019, back to back to the 5th CM SAF User's workshop.

 The key objectives of this advanced training are:

• Share knowledge, experiences and best practices for the development of operational applications in using CM SAF data
• Build a network of CM SAF users with different level of experience

With expert support, participants of this workshop will develop applications of CM SAF data to be ready for operations.

"The Use of Gridded Satellite Data for Climate Services in Africa"

This workshop will focus on CM SAF data for application in Africa. The key objective of this Workshop is to instruct active and future users from National Meteorological Services and from research institutions in the use of CM SAF products for operational climate monitoring and climate research in Africa.

This workshop is intended to bring together users of satellite data for climate applications from the National Meteorological Services in WMO RA VI. It will comprise lectures, exercises and working group discussions on the use of satellite data for climate monitoring. Prior to the classroom sessions, supporting information and some tasks will be provided by the participants online. The main focus of the this workshop is on CM SAF data relevant to high latitudes.
