This self-paced training course introduces key concepts for monitoring dust with satellite data. It is designed for people who are new to this topic and who have an undergraduate level of basic science knowledge. 

 At the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Describe why dust episodes occur and what impact they have on human health and the climate
• Interpret the natural colour and dust RGB composites from geostationary satellites to detect dust and see how it is being transported
• Determine the presence of airborne particles in the atmosphere using the Absorbing Aerosol Index satellite data product
