Hi Amos,
I would say that a webinar is a 'useful' tool for learning. It allows to reach out to a wide audience (breaks the geographical barriers!). For a webinar to be effective, one needs to define the focus, but I think this is true of any learning programme: even a face to face lesson has to have a focus to be effective.
Mind mapping is also a tool for generating ideas and organise ideas.
