Tools for Trainers Discussion
Hi All,
The CALMet Online Tools for Trainers sessions start tomorrow. I shall be presenting some planning tools and checklists that I have found useful and will invite you to share any that you have.
The sessions will be asynchronous to allow for the different time zones.
You will gain maximum benefit from these tools if you apply them as we go. So please consider something that you teach whose effectiveness you would like to improve.
The first session will be "It's all about performance" where we will consider the overall context of our training - the learning-training cycle and learning and training/instruction environments.
This will be followed by "Is training the answer?" - when should we train to close a performance gap and when should we say, "No, it's not a training problem"?
Further sessions will cover "Are my competencies competent?", planning for change, action mapping (activities not content), implementation plans and more.
I look forward to working with you over the next 10 days.
Ian Bell
