The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will organize in cooperation with EUMETSAT a training workshop on "Use of Satellite Data on Nowcasting High Impact Weather", which will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 12-16 September 2016.
The main objective of the training workshop is to present and explain to the participants the new developments in satellite meteorology focusing on the use of processes, principles and practices, tools and products for nowcasting and short-range forecasting weather such as storms, deep cyclones, tornadoes, severe precipitation, heat weaves and droughts, based on meteorological satellite data and products.
Target audience: operational forecasters, experts and researchers from south-eastern Europe and North African countries, preferably young and motivates staff members of the Meteorological Services with knowledge or experience in satellite imagery interpretation.
