This course will focus on the warm season convection in the Baltic Sea region. Topics of the course include the typical challenges forecasters need to deal with convection, and with a special focus on new convection monitoring capabilities through FCI and LI instruments. An essential part of the course is to work on case studies that help you to refresh your skills in using the satellite and other products when working in weather forecasting.
The Baltic+ course is a joint initiative of the National Meteorological Services of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland, who join forces in order to increase the knowledge in skills in the use of satellite observation data and to create a platform for exchanging ideas, applications and knowledge.
