Using MTG data for Improved Weather forecasts in Africa

EUMETSAT in collaboration with the Kenya Meteorological Department Institute of Meteorological Training and Research will organize a course on using MTG data for Improved Weather forecasts in Africa. The course will be held at in Nairobi, Kenya from 20th to 24th April 2026. 

The aim of the course is to develop the skills of the African participants to master the use of MTG Satellite imagery for forecasting.  Using meteorological satellite data and increasing the knowledge and skills of forecasters will contribute to improved forecasting.

Candidates wishing to take this course will need to be nominated by the PR with WMO of their respective country, and take a preceding online course in order to be eligible for taking this classroom course.
