CALMet Online: Design Workshop 17 January 2018

we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year 2018.

You are receiving this announcement as you participated in CALMet Online event in 2016. This year 2018 some colleagues will offer sessions that can be of interest to the whole CALMet Online community. It is therefore our pleasure to announce an upcoming online session just in one week: a Design Workshop will be held next week 17 January by Tsvet Ross-Lazarov from COMET.

Greetings everyone,

As promised during the CALMet conference, I would like to offer to our community a Design workshop. Please bring a project that you are working on and we can discuss ideas about implementing competency-based strategies to engage the learners and assess them. The workshop will last one hour and will happen online on January 17th, 2018.

If you would like to bring a project to the discussion, please fill out this form so that I can summarize the problem for the group ahead of time and use our time to generate many ideas. Please complete the survey by January 10th, 2018.

Many thanks to those who submitted projects for the Design workshop. There are nine projects submitted for the Design Workshop. We won’t be able to discuss them all in a single hour, so let’s start with three satellite projects:

- Integrating Satellite and NWP guidance products

- Using RGB to analyze the meteorological situation

- Analyzing the backscattered signal of aerosols measured by a lidar system

We can schedule another session to address some of the other topics. We can adapt the workshop format based on our experience in this session.
