Hello fellow CALMet Online participants,
In just a little over a week the first CALMet Online session begins. If you plan to join our session on using Discussion Forums, there are a few things you can do before we officially begin on May 3.
First, visit the Introductions page for a course introduction and a chance to introduce yourself via video, audio, or text.
Then, if you haven’t already done so, complete your Moodle participant profile. This is the profile you’ll keep for the entire group of CALMet Online sessions, so it can be more general.
Finally, there are two session activities ready for you to contribute to before we actually begin. In “How effective have Discussion Forums been for you in the past?”, just choose the response that best describes your experiences. It will be interesting to see the totals from all of our input. In “Past experiences with Discussion Forums,” take a little more time and relate a summary of what was good and/or bad about your past uses of forums. Several people have already added their comments, so take a look.
That’s it! The rest will begin on May 3. This should not be a time consuming activity for you, but we do hope you’ll commit a few hours each week to participate and make some of your own contributions to the conversation.
