Good afternoon everyone..

I experienced an unpleasant situation yesterday

From eumetview, a storm system was detect, and was directly heading towards the Cameroonian coast, my forecast area of interest. I forgot to tack pictures, rushing to make alerts. After all my analysis, i saw that, that system may not be shower in my forecast area. But, due to the system volume, i decide to make alerts for my forecast area, but once there, the storm did not shower, just wing gust was present.

I just wanted to share this experience with you, so that if somebody can tell me/us, how it follows a storm system, in order to know if it will rain or not.

Please don't really mine my English if it is bad, I'm francophone. I had already applied for the English session, before seeing that  the was a french session. Nevertheless, it will help me to increase my English level.

Thank's and good day

Hello Merveille
I'm replying in English since our Instructors are all English speakers; this will help them to jump in any time.
So; having a big storm doesn't simply mean it's going to rain heavily: we should also consider the wind regime, especially at steering level, and of course study the storm using different channels/ bands (say for example using RGB to detect if the storm is at dissipation phase; therefore expect downdrafts associated with wind gusts rather than heavy rainfall). And YES this is an opportunity to excel in English as well. Cheers

Thank's Serge for your response

Yes, the RGB has been use and the storm was not at its dissipation phase. On the contrary, it was still growing, but after one hour, it begins to dissipate.
